The Mission Art Walk is TONIGHT!

Local artists, live music, good food and good times at the Mission Art Walk tonight from 6 to 10. I'll be at my booth selling paintings all evening, so come on down and say "hey."

The Art Walk came and went and a good time was had by all. I made six sales during the evening! Were they all to friends or family? Yes, but that still counts!

"Freja Beha" color study

This is a digital color study for the "Freja Beha". The line work is ink on a gessoed wood board that I later completed the final painting on.

Neo-Pop Art portraits of fashion models

Here are some paintings I've done over the past couple weeks. I was experimenting with layered application of color using acrylic glazing medium. Their hue and luminance shift subtly depending on the type of light you display them in. Pretty cool, I say:

Impromptu painting

Sometimes, I go on an art binge and vomit something out that I had no intention of creating. Last night was one of those times. All of this took place within two hours.

Here's the reference material. I'm trying to find the image's original source so I can give credit where it's due...

I don't usually lay paint down this thick. I was kind of in a frenzy while creating this:

Towards the end, I ditched my palette knife; can you can see the grooves left by my fingerprints?
